The 7th HDS Film Fest Took Place on March 28, 2025 in the Cader Room, Swartz Hall
Independent Films (10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon)
The first screening of the day will present a compelling lineup of independent films that examine themes of devotion, morality, and personal transformation, featuring:
- The Cleaner by Daniel Ofori-Atta (United Kingdom)
- AVOESIS by Mykhailo Bogdanov (United States/Ukraine)
- Guardian Angel by High Altitude Films (United Kingdom)
- Hate by Emiliano Sisolfi (Italy)
- Hatches by Alex Moreno-Novelo (Mexico)
- Orfeo by Guillermo Rojo Diez (Spain)
- Tree House by Soo-min Park (Korea)
- Forbidden Holiness by Doron Neeman (Israel)
Feature Studio Film: Exhibiting Forgiveness (12:30 PM – 3:00 PM)
The highlight of this year’s festival is the screening of Exhibiting Forgiveness, directed by Titus Kaphar. This powerful and deeply personal film follows the journey of an artist grappling with his past while navigating the complex nature of healing and forgiveness.
Notably, the film’s lead character is played by HDS student Andre Holland, who is currently enrolled in the Master of Religion in Public Life program and is expected to graduate in May 2025. Holland’s participation in the film underscores the festival’s mission to celebrate meaningful storytelling that bridges academia, spirituality, and the arts.
A complimentary meal box will be available for the first 75 attendees who reserve in advance.
Student Films (3:30 PM – 6:00 PM)
A diverse selection of student films from across the world will be screened, offering fresh perspectives on faith, culture, and identity. The lineup includes:

- A Coffee’s Ancient Ritual by Hilman Nurr Hakim (Indonesia)
- Aamhi Doghe (Two of Us) by Neel Phadnis (India)
- Devotional Skin by Constanza Cáceres (Chile)
